Millhouses Hideaway Reviews

Ideal house for family visit. Very clean and comfortable, well equipped. Easy access to park and woods for dog walking. Great location for Sheffield city centre and visiting the Peak District. Couple of minor maintenance issues eg electric fire didn't appear to work, and a more secure gate at side of garden would be helpful for dog owners.
This property was comfortable and well located for our extended family to catch up with our Sheffield based family. Overall we were happy with the property, a few things would make it even better We needed at least one big saucepan for 5 adults and a child. We ended up buying one A proper gate to close off the back garden for our dog rather than having to pull a shed door across, especially at night with no lighting Wifi was a bit 'iffy'
A mirror in family bathroom would be useful as would coat hooks on the ground floor utility room saving having a pile of coats on the sofa or taking wet coats upstairs ? A colander not a sieve would also be useful in the kitchen. It was a bit tedious having to keep restarting the router in order to watch the internet tv
Dominic
Great location for spending time in Sheffield city centre and the surrounding countryside. Very clean, with lots of space for our family. Unfortunately we found the oven very difficult to cook with as there seemed to be some damage to the main oven door which meant it wouldn't close properly. This was a bit of an issue for us and was a shame as otherwise we found the kitchen wellequipped. We stayed with two teenagers in our group which made it tricky when the WiFi kept dropping out. It made streaming a film in the living room impossible at times. We enjoyed having the spa bath but it had to be turned off at the isolator as the switch wasn't working. Owner was very helpful in sorting the issue with the bath which we appreciated, but perhaps some of these niggles could be avoided with regular maintenance checks. Adding a door number to the front of the property would also be helpful as we had to direct several lost delivery drivers who couldn't find us! We enjoyed being so close to the beautiful park which made for some relaxed days and easy access to public transport to get into town.

Wonderful home, will stay again if possible when visiting our family
We had a great stay , perfect for the nearby park , days in Derbyshire , and easy for the Theatre Quarter in the heart of the city . Perfect for our party of 6 plus an infant .
Joanne
Lovely house in an excellent location. It has a really handy footpath nearby which went into Millhouses park, which was great for the dog. Also convenient for city centre, whilst being very quiet. Everything we needed for the weekend whilst our son was swimming at Ponds Forge.
We had a lovely stay of 3 weeks at the Millhouses Hideaway whilst building work was done at home. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Tracey was there when we arrived and was at the end of the phone, when we had a question, throughout our stay. Will was very responsive when the smoke alarm went off due to a problem with the oven door that they are getting replaced. The beds are very comfortable. The on suite has a soft mattress which we loved but others are firmer if you prefer that. The internet can go down for a short time in the evenings when the demand increases but we were able to get it back on by rebooting the router. We noticed that the water, when running a bath, runs hot then cold for a minute or two but if you leave the taps on it goes hot again and runs a lovely hot bath. There is a path into the woods and Millhouses park by the house next door and that is ideal for dogs. The back garden doesnt have a gate but there is an old door to slide across to keep small dogs in the garden. We didnt use the garden as it was wet and quite dark during our stay but we didnt need it with the park being so close. We would recommend the house for other visitors. Ideally placed in the South of Sheffield for local walks and the Peak District as well as Sheffield City Centre.
Our family of 6 had a lovely, relaxing holiday. It's in a fantastic position for walks from the doorstep. Close enough to the centre for shopping and eating out. The house is spacious 6 adults felt like we all had space. Well equipped kitchen for cooking a big roast dinner. And a big dining table to all sit round eating or playing games. We would definitely visit again!
The house was lovely, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Great location too.
A nice house with everything you need in a great location. Great park just behind the house, perfect if you have a dog with you.
Jacqueline

Neville
Internet reception was intermittent . Not your problem but the provider. .
The property was in an excellent location, great for the dog, especially with Millhouse Park next door to walk him around. The property had all we needed and the owner was so helpful when we contacted him with a question we had. On top of this the property was clean to the point of spotless. Would defiantly recommend if you want somewhere in Sheffield or want to visit the Peak District which we did.
Anthony
We found a few items of concern but contacted Will the owner came round and sorted out what he could and said he would get the other items sorted as soon as possible. which we thought was very helpful, They did not affect your holiday we enjoyed are stay . There could have been more information about the local area and instructions on the house hold equipment. overall the house was clean and smart.
Stephen
Absolutely loved my stay here for NYE. The property is exactly as described. Really safe cul de sac and the house is immaculate. Dog friendly too which was hugely helpful. Host communication is excellent reassuring to know they are there if you need anything.
Ursula
We enjoyed our stay at this property and we found the website description to be accurate. It is a very clean and comfortable property, wellequipped and welllocated both for city and countryside whether by car or bus. Its location next to Millhouses Park and other walking routes adds to its attractiveness. It is ideal for a large party, with plenty of space for dining and lounging. The main improvement that could be made is to ensure that a printed handbook is available at the property or an eversion sent before arrival. Will the owner sent us one after our arrival as we had queries about the operation of the heating and the location of the fuse board. However, Will was readily available to answer queries and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and may well rebook if we are in the area.

An excellent base for our trip to Sheffield. Loads of Buses and trains so you can easily get to the city and areas surrounding the city. From busy Sheffield to wild moor is only 2.5 miles. Beat that for convenience if you want National Park scenery. Loads of galleries and museums and green parks galore. Our base was great and a real home from home. We met Will and his adorable family and they helped us out with technology..... Old folk are technophobic you know. A lovely quiet place with an amazing park 5 yards away. Join the athletes... where do they get their energy? Every facility to keep you fit and for children to enjoy themselves. Visit the industrial village 400 yards up the road. It's so good. These were the best beds ever. So comfy. Shops and pubs around so you don't have to cook. Visit the Moor market in the city centre for The best curry. A wonderful culturepacked holiday made better with pleasant holiday accommodation. Oh, the water makes excellent tea... a real bonus. Well done Team Will. We will see you next year.
