The Hide, Mersea Island

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful accommodation from the 3rd to the 5th, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location itself is stunning, offering a peaceful and picturesque setting that immediately allows you to relax and unwind. The accommodation has been thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. Every aspect, from the excellent facilities to the small but meaningful touches such as fresh milk, wellprovided cutlery, and cleaning essentials, was carefully considered to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. The welcome hamper provided on arrival was a particularly thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated, adding an extra special touch to our stay. The bedroom, in particular, was wonderfully arranged, with tasteful dcor that was both stylish and soothing to the eye. It created a very welcoming and restful atmosphere, making it easy to feel completely at home. What truly made our stay stand out, however, was the kindness and hospitality of the hosts. They were incredibly helpful and responsive, always available to answer any questions with ease. Their thoughtful preparation and warm approach made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Without a doubt, they are some of the nicest hosts we have ever encountered. Thank you to Liz and Ben for such a wonderful stay, we truly appreciate everything you did for us. We will most definitely be booking again in the future.

We had a lovely weekend stay at this cottage it was cosy, spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a relaxing break. The setting was peaceful and perfect for unwinding. Liz was fantastic friendly, welcoming and very helpful with great communication throughout. We felt at home from the moment we arrived and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

Property was fantastic the Liz and Ben were great host couple of issues we had was sorted very quickly. The views are out of this world. Peace and quiet lots of wild life what more could you ask for.

Absolutely perfect stay, the hide was clean, cosy and beautifully maintained. The surroundings and views made it the perfect getaway. Would highly recommend for families of all ages. The owners are available throughout your stay and nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely return.

We had such a lovely time at The Hide, we didn't want to leave. It was so nice and peaceful during the day with a lovely view from the dining area. It was cosy during the night with the lamps lit and playing family games. The property had lovely furnishings throughout and we thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. We had a wonderful stay at The Hide over the weekend. It was perfect for our two families. The space was generous throughout, with a large and well equipped kitchen and dining area that made it easy to cook and enjoy meals together. The cosy living room was ideal for relaxing in the evenings. The whole place was spotless and felt brand new, which really added to our comfort. It is genuinely one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in within the UK. The amenities were excellent. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the outdoor hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for unwinding after a day out. The garden was also a big plus, offering plenty of space for the children to run around and play safely. The location is beautifully remote, which made for a peaceful and relaxing escape from the usual hustle and bustle. Our host Ben was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our stay, making everything simple from start to finish. We would highly recommend The Hide to anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable and well equipped retreat in a lovely setting.

Wow what a place to relax and take a breath. We turned off our phones and relaxed to the sound of the countryside. Amazing view from the hot tub, country walks on the doorstep. Comfortable beds and well equipped accommodation. Kids loved playing in the garden while we enjoyed a BBQ and playing boules. Walking to Mersea Barns for lunch and local treats. Didnt manage to get to the Michelin starred restaurant at the end of the road next time!
